About the artist

Born in Athens, Greece.

 

K.P. is a contemporary greek artist who studied visual arts (painting and printmaking) in the Athens School of Fine Arts. He has also received a postgraduate degree from the "Digital Forms of Art" program of the Athens School of Fine Arts.

Currently, he is a Ph.D. candidate at the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences.

Contributed to Babel and Mov magazines, worked as a comicbook artist with "9" & "Vivliothiki" magazines of the Eleftherotypia newspaper and as an illustrator in the Vima newspaper.

He is the cover artist of the Athens Review of Books and he also is a freelance illustrator at the Dutch "De Groene Amsterdammer".

In 2000 his first graphic novel "The Jap" was published followed in 2003 by "The Japanese - Deuteronomion" and "Epilarchia!" in 2011. His latest books are "The Japanese 3" and "Talos".

In 2003 he has received a commission by the Benaki Museum for a portrait of the benefactor Andonis Benakis.

In 2004 the work has become part of the Benaki Museum permanent collections.

He is teaching painting and printmaking at the Department of Fine Arts and Art Sciences of the University of Ioannina.

His works are in various public and private collections both in Greece and abroad.
