This is the first study for a portrait of Konstantinos Kanaris, one of the great heroes of the Greek Revolution of 1821. Greece is getting ready to celebrate the 200-year-anniversary of this momentous event in european history and this painting will be part of Konstantinos Papamichalopoulos' solo show at the Museum of the City of Athens in 2021.
